Today, 170 years ago, the Post Impressionist French painter, Paul Cezanne was born (19.1.1839).
Cezanne used to paint landscapes, bathing women, still life and portraits, but he is mostly well known for his apples paintings.
His style was very colorful with long strokes and partly geometric. This unique style makes him the "bridge"between the impressionists and the cubists - the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
He died in 1906.
